Than Than Htay is a 23-year-old Myanmar helper who is single and has 4 years and 4 months of working experience in Myanmar. She is the second of two siblings and has experience working for two different families.

In her first employment, she worked for 3 years with a family consisting of the employer, employer’s husband and two children aged 6 and 2 years old. Her main responsibilities included taking care of the children, bathing them, changing their clothes, feeding them, bringing and fetching them from school, playing with them and helping them with their homework. She was also responsible for cooking, cleaning and other general household duties.

In her second employment, she worked for 1 year and 4 months with a family consisting of the employer and an elderly Ah Ma aged 89. Ah Ma had weak legs and required assistance with her daily needs. Her responsibilities included bathing her, changing her diapers, feeding her, assisting her with medication, helping her with exercises and providing general care. She was also responsible for cooking and household cleaning.

She can cook Myanmar food and simple Chinese dishes. She is able to follow recipes and is willing to learn new cooking styles according to the employer’s preference. She can also manage general household duties such as cleaning and maintaining household cleanliness.

She likes dogs and cats, although she does not have previous working experience taking care of pets. She is comfortable sleeping together with either a child or an elderly person if required.

Through the interaction at the training centre, she appears to be a patient and hardworking person. She shared that she is comfortable caring for around two children aged 2 years and above. She is able to handle both childcare and elderly care, with stronger experience and confidence in childcare, particularly in caring for young children and managing their daily routines.
